May is the 3rd most productive month of the year with at least one individual of 201 species being seen. The summer migrants continue to move through including Garganey, Hobby, Cuckoo, Spotted Flycatcher, more Terns and Skuas with the chance of Pomarine. “Small” wader numbers should rise during the month with Dunlin, Ringed Plover, Sanderling and the chance of a Curlew Sandpiper or Little Stint. Rarer records include Subalpine Warbler (2004), Golden Oriole (2016), Bee-eater (2007), Spoonbills, Great White Egrets, Honey Buzzard (1991,2011), Montagu’s Harrier (2015), Hen Harrier, Osprey, Collared Pratincole (2020), Kentish Plover (2004), Buff-breasted Sandpiper (1990), Temminck’s Stint (2004,2016, 2019, 2023), Broad-billed Sandpiper (1988), Dotterel (2011), Black-winged Stilt (2017), Pectoral Sandpiper (2022), Franklin’s Gull (1984), Laughing Gull (2012), Long-tailed Skua, Sabine’s Gull, Roseate Tern (1990) and White-winged Black Tern (1990).

31st May
A cloudier and cooler end to the month with a persistent North East breeze. Reports from Severn Beach included at least 5 Sanderling, 50 Ringed Plover, 2 Dunlin, single Oystercatcher, Little Egret and 3 Shelduck. A Red Kite flew South East over Pilning Wetland where other reports included 2 Little Ringed Plover, 4 Lapwing, a Grey Heron, 2 Barnacle Geese, 8 Gadwall, 2 Tufted Duck and 2 Swifts.

30th May
No change in the weather, sunny but cool in the North East breeze. A single Dunlin, 3 Little Ringed Plover, 3 Lapwing, 2 Barnacle Geese, 8 Canada Geese, a Shelduck, 6 Gadwall, 2 Tufted Duck, 6 Swifts and a Kestrel were seen at Pilning Wetland this morning. At least 26 Ringed Plover, 3 Dunlin, a Turnstone and just 4 Shelduck were seen on the dawn high tide at Severn Beach.

29th May
Sunshine with cloudy spells and a cool North East wind still. An early morning visit to Pilning Wetland produced single Black-tailed Godwit, Little Ringed Plover, Lapwing and Grey Heron, 2 Barnacle Geese, a Gadwall, 3 Tufted Duck and 6 Swifts. Nearby, the Pink-footed Goose, 55 Canada Geese, 45 Shelduck, 60 Oystercatchers and a Ringed Plover were reported from New Passage. Severn Beach remained very quiet with single Ringed Plover, 2 Oystercatchers, a Grey Heron and 4 Shelduck reported from the shore. Two Red Kites were seen over Aust Cliff/services this morning.

28th May
The warm weather continued. A Hawfinch flew North East over Severn Beach at 6.25 a.m. where other reports today included 55 Ringed Plovers, 4 Oystercatchers, single Dunlin, Turnstone and Little Egret, 2 Shelduck and 2 Black-headed Gulls. Combined reports from the Pilning Wetland/New Passage area involved 2 Avocets, a Bar-tailed Godwit, 2 Little Ringed Plovers, 4 Lapwing, 2 Grey Herons, 2 Barnacle Geese, the Pink-footed Goose, 28 Canada Geese, 7 Mute Swans (including 5 cygnets), 52 Shelduck, 13 Gadwall, 4 Tufted Duck, 70 Mallard, 4 Common Terns (heading up river), a Black-headed Gull, 2 Swifts and a Kestrel. A Greenshank, 4 Lapwing, 4 Gadwall and 4 Shelduck were seen on the Aust Wetland.

27th May
An even warmer (23°C) day. Combined reports from the Pilning Wetland/New Passage area included a Greenshank, 8 Avocets, 2 Lapwing, 40+ Ringed Plover, 5 Turnstones, 6 Dunlin, 40 Oystercatchers, 2 Curlew, a Little Egret, 3 Grey Herons, single Pink-footed Goose and Barnacle Goose, a pair of Mute Swans with 5 cygnets, 40+ Shelduck, a drake Shoveler, 4 Gadwall, 4 Tufted Duck, 6 Black-headed Gulls, 2 Swift and a Kestrel. Severn Beach was quiet with just 4 Ringed Plover, 2 Oystercatchers, 2 Little Egrets, 3 Shelduck, a Great Black-backed Gull, 200 Herring Gulls, 2 Black-headed Gulls and a Swift worth a mention.

26th May
A warm (22°C) day with blue sky and a cool North East breeze. A Greenshank, 16 Ringed Plover, 2 Little Egrets and 2 Shelduck were seen at Severn Beach. Reports from Pilning Wetland included 8 Avocets, 2 Lapwings, a Pink-footed Goose, 2 Barnacle Geese, 7 Canada Geese, 2 Shelduck, 4 Gadwall, 8 Tufted Duck, a Black-headed Gull and a late Willow Warbler.

25th May
A repeat of the weather. Combined reports from Pilning Wetland included a Greenshank, 9 Avocets, 2 Little Ringed Plover, 2 Lapwing, single Redshank, 2 Grey Herons, 2 Barnacle Geese, 4 Gadwall, a Tufted Duck, 3 Reed Warblers, 2 late singing Willow Warblers, 2 Swifts and a Kestrel. At least 25 Oystercatchers, 65 Shelduck and a Grey Heron were seen from New Passage. Single Ringed Plover, Little Egret, 2 Oystercatchers and 2 Shelduck were reported from Severn Beach.

24th May
Another warm (21°C) and sunny day. Combined reports from the Severn Beach shore included single Sanderling and Common Sandpiper, 19 Ringed Plovers, 7 Turnstones, 3 Dunlin, 3 Oystercatchers, 2 Little Egrets, 4 Grey Herons, 7 Canada Geese, 4 Shelduck and 2 Swifts. At least 10 Avocets, 2 Black-tailed Godwits, 2 Little Ringed Plovers, 2 Lapwing, single Redshank and Little Egret, 2 Barnacle Geese, 3 Shelduck, 4 Gadwall, 3 Tufted Duck and a Swift. At least 35 Oystercatchers, a Grey Heron, 2 Canada Geese and 40 Shelduck were seen from New Passage. A visit to the Aust Cliff/services area produced 2 Ravens, 40 Shelduck and 2 Swifts.

23rd May
A dry warm day with some sunshine. A dark morph Arctic Skua, 37 Ringed Plover, 9 Dunlin, 3 Oystercatchers, a Lapwing, 4 Little Egrets, a Grey Heron, 2 Canada Geese, 9 Shelduck, single Gadwall, Black-headed Gull and 9 Swifts were seen at Severn Beach this morning. Reports from Pilning Wetland included 5 Avocets, 2 Little Ringed Plover, 2 Lapwing, single Grey Heron and Barnacle Goose, 4 Gadwall, 2 Tufted Duck, single Sparrowhawk and Kestrel. Two Ravens, a Sparrowhawk and 19 Swifts were reported at Aust Cliff/services.

22nd May
Another warm day, cloud in the afternoon and alight North breeze. Reports from Pilning Wetland included 13 Avocets, 2 Little Ringed Plovers, 3 Lapwing, 15 Dunlin, 10 Ringed Plover, single Little Egret, Grey Heron and Barnacle Goose, 4 Shelduck, 10 Gadwall, 9 Tufted Duck, 2 Swifts, a Hobby and a hunting male Marsh Harrier. Nearby 2 Avocets, a Bar-tailed Godwit, 39 Oystercatchers, 4 Black-headed Gulls, 2 Canada Geese and 31 Shelduck were seen from New Passage. At least 5 Sanderling, 37 Ringed Plover, 10 Dunlin, 2 Oystercatchers, 4 Curlew, 2 Grey Herons, 4 Canada Geese, 8 Shelduck, 2 Gadwall, 8 Swifts and a Cetti’s Warbler were reported at Severn Beach. Three Lapwings, a Little Egret, 2 Shelduck, 2 Gadwall, 2 Sedge Warblers and at least one Treecreeper were seen at Aust Wetland. A Spotted Flycatcher, 30 Swifts, 2 Sparrowhawks, single Kestrel and Red Kite were seen at Aust Cliff/services.

21st May
A hot and sunny day with a North East breeze. Combined reports from the Pilning Wetland/New Passage area once again included the Little Stint, 3 Little Ringed Plovers, 10 Avocets, 42 Ringed Plover, 27 Dunlin, single Bar-tailed Godwit and Whimbrel, 4 Lapwings, 2 Redshank, 22 Oystercatchers, a Little Egret, 2 Grey Herons, 10 Black-headed Gulls, single Pink-footed Goose, Barnacle Goose and Common Scoter, 20 Shelduck, 14 Gadwall, 7 Tufted Duck, 24 Swifts, single Hobby, Peregrine, Lesser Whitethroat, Yellow Wagtail and Spotted Flycatcher (first of the year). A Greylag Goose, 3 Canada Geese, 3 Shelduck, a Gadwall, 2 Oystercatchers and a Ringed Plover were seen at Severn Beach. Reports from Aust Wetland involved 5 Avocets, 6 Lapwing, 21 Shelduck, 4 Gadwall, 4 Swifts, a Treecreeper (2nd day) and a Sparrowhawk.

A warm and sunny day with North East breeze. A good selection of birds were seen today in the Pilning Wetland/New Passage area including the Little Stint, 2 Little Ringed Plover, 5 Avocets, 39 Ringed Plover, 23 Dunlin, 4 Lapwing, 25 Oystercatchers, single Great White Egret, Little Egret and Grey Heron, the drake Common Scoter, 4 Canada Geese, 20 Shelduck, 12 Gadwall, 6 Tufted Duck, a hunting female Marsh Harrier, a pair of Yellow Wagtails, single Sedge Warbler, Lesser Whitethroat, Redpoll and Kestrel. Combined reports from Severn Beach included 8 Sanderling, 7 Ringed Plover, 3 Dunlin, a Curlew, 15 Oystercatchers, 2 Little Egrets, a Great White Egret, 17 Shelduck, 2 Gadwall, 7 Swifts and a singing Cetti’s Warbler. A dry and occasionally sunny day. Combined reports from Pilning Wetland/New Passage included the first Little Stint of the year, a Bar-tailed Godwit, 2 Whimbrel, 3 Avocets, 3 Little Ringed Plover, 26 Ringed Plover, 23 Dunlin, 5 Lapwing, 21 Oystercatcher, a Little Egret, 2 Grey Heron, a Pink-footed Goose, 8 Canada Geese, 34 Shelduck, 10 Gadwall, 7 Tufted Duck, the drake Common Scoter, 2 Swifts, 2 Reed Warblers, single Lesser Whitethroat and  Kestrel. Five Curlew, 22 Oystercatcher, a Little Egret, 2 Canada Geese, 2 Mute Swans, 12 Shelduck, a Gadwall and a singing Cetti’s Warbler were reported from Severn Beach. Reports from Aust Wetland included 4 Avocets, 3 Lapwing, single Little Egret, Grey Heron and Shelduck, 5 Gadwall, 3 Stock Doves, 2 Swifts, the first Treecreeper of the year, single Sedge Warbler, Lesser Whitethroat, Red Kite, Sparrowhawk and Kestrel. Nearby 2 Siskins, single Raven, Reed Warbler and Pheasant were reported at Aust Cliff/services.

18th May
A sunny and warm day with a light South West breeze. An early morning high tide visit to Severn Beach produced 10 Ringed Plover, 8 Oystercatchers, a Little Egret, 4 Shelduck, 2 Gadwall and a singing Cetti’s Warbler. Two Little Ringed Plover, 6 Ringed Plover, 3 Dunlin, 2 Lapwings, 2 Little Egrets, 3 Shelduck, 10 Gadwall, 7 Tufted Duck, 2 Swifts, 2 Reed Warblers and a Sedge Warbler were reported at Pilning Wetland. A Bar-tailed Godwit, 3 Dunlin, 17 Oystercatchers, the drake Common Scoter, 6 Canada Geese and 24 Shelduck were seen from New Passage.

17th May
Another dry and sunny day. The drake Common Scoter remained off New Passage where other reports included 6 Canada Geese, 53 Shelduck, 2 Tufted Duck, 10 Ringed Plover, 4 Dunlin, 7 Oystercatchers and a Lapwing. Combined reports from Pilning Wetland involved 2 Little Ringed Plovers, 3 Lapwing, single Whimbrel and Ringed Plover, 2 Grey Herons, 2 Barnacle Geese (flew North West), 2 Mute Swans, 7 Shelduck, 11 Gadwall, 2 Tufted Ducks, 4 Little Grebes, a Raven, 2 Reed Warblers and 4 Swifts. A Little Ringed Plover, 2 Oystercatchers, 2 Canada Geese, 6 Shelduck, 2 Gadwall, 3 Black-headed Gulls and a Kestrel were reported from the Severn Beach shore.

16th May
A dry day with lots of sunshine and a cool North West breeze. A morning low tide visit to the Severn Beach shore produced 2 Whimbrel, 50 Oystercatchers, a Little Egret, 12 Shelduck, 2 Cetti’s Warblers and a singing Reed Warbler. Reports from Pilning Wetland included 2 Little Ringed Plovers, a Lapwing, 3 Grey Herons, 7 Mute Swans, a Shelduck, 12 Gadwall, 9 Tufted Duck, 2 Little Grebes, 2 Reed Warblers, 2 Swifts and a Lesser Whitethroat. Nearby, a drake Common Scoter, 8 Canada Geese, 60 Shelduck, 10 Ringed Plover, 5 Dunlin, 30 Oystercatchers and a Grey Heron were seen from New Passage.

A day of cloud and sunny spells with a cool North breeze. Combined visits to the Severn Beach shore early morning and on the afternoon high tide produced 19 Ringed Plover, 3 Dunlin, single Oystercatcher and Little Egret, 6 Canada Geese and 14 Shelduck. Two Little Ringed Plovers, 3 Lapwing, 2 Dunlin, a drake Garganey, 2 Mute Swans, 11 Shelduck, 32 Mallard, 18 Gadwall, 12 Tufted Duck, 40 Swifts, single Yellow Wagtail and Kestrel were seen at Pilning Wetland. Another 2 Lapwing, 40 Oystercatchers, 8 Canada Geese, single Mute Swan and 55 Shelduck were seen from New Passage.

A misty start with cloud and some sunny spells all afternoon with a West wind. Combined reports from Severn Beach included 3 Mediterranean Gulls (an adult & 2 first summer), 29 Kittiwakes, 17 Common Gulls, a Great Black-backed Gull, 2 Ringed Plover, a Whimbrel, 9 Oystercatchers, 4 Little Egrets, a Grey Heron, 3 Canada Geese, 16 Shelduck, 3 Gadwall, single Reed Warbler and Hobby. Reports from the Pilning Wetland /New Passage area involved the Wood Sandpiper, 4 Little Ringed Plovers, 3 Avocets, 4 Lapwings, 51 Oystercatchers, 2 Dunlin, 2 Grey Herons, a Pink-footed Goose, 8 Canada Geese, 4 Mute Swans, 36 Shelduck, 19 Gadwall, 10 Tufted Duck, 16 Swifts, single Sparrowhawk, Kestrel, Raven, Lesser Whitethroat and Yellow Wagtail.

Combined reports from Severn Beach included a Great White Egret flying East, a Little Gull heading up river, 3 Lapwing, 3 Oystercatchers, 4 Ringed Plover, a Little Egret, 4 Barnacle Geese heading up river, a Canada Goose, 5 Shelduck, 3 Gadwall, 21 Black-headed Gulls, 2 Great Black-backed Gulls, single Kestrel and Yellow Wagtail. A Wood Sandpiper, 3 Little Ringed Plovers, 3+ Lapwing, single Little Egret, Grey Heron and Pink-footed Goose, 5 Barnacle Geese, 2 Canada Geese, a drake Garganey, 4 Shelduck, 18 Gadwall, 9 Tufted Duck, 13 Swifts, 2 Yellow Wagtails, single Lesser Whitethroat and Kestrel were seen at Pilning Wetland. 12th May
Another dry day with a cool North East breeze. Combined reports from Severn Beach included 2 Whimbrel, a Little Ringed Plover, 3 Ringed Plover, a Dunlin, 9 Little Egrets, 2 Canada Geese, 8 Shelduck, 3 Gadwall, 31 Black-headed Gulls, 64 Swifts, a Lesser Whitethroat, 6 Yellow Wagtails, 2 Redpolls, 2 Kestrels single Hobby and Sparrowhawk. Pilning Wetland was quiet again where the only notable reports were 2 Little Ringed Plover, a Grey Heron, 4 Canada Geese, 4 Shelduck, 17 Gadwall, 6 Tufted Duck, 5 Swifts, single Sedge Warbler and Lesser Whitethroat. Five Avocets, 2 Lapwing, 8 Shelduck, 4 Gadwall, a Pheasant and a Kestrel were reported from Aust Wetland.

11th May
The sunniest day of the year so far. Combined reports from the Pilning Wetland/New Passage area included 2 Lapwings, 2 Curlew, a Little Ringed Plover, 57 Oystercatchers, a Grey Heron, 2 Canada Geese, 12 Gadwall, 6 Tufted Duck and a Lesser Whitethroat. It remained quiet at Severn Beach with just single Curlew and Little Egret, 8 Shelduck, 2 Reed Warblers, single Lesser Whitethroat and Cetti’s Warbler reported early this morning.

10th May
A cloudy day with some sunny spells and an increasing strength South West wind. A visit to Pilning Wetland produced just 2 Lapwings, a Grey Heron, a Barnacle Goose, 2 Mute Swans, 5 Shelduck, 21 Gadwall, 2 Tufted Duck, 20+ Swifts, single Sedge Warbler, 3 Reed Warblers and a Kestrel. A quick scan from New Passage at high tide produced just 4 Whimbrel, 2 Curlew, 2 Lapwings, 15 Oystercatchers, a Pink-footed Goose, 9 Shelduck, 57 Shelduck and 4 Swifts. Combined reports from a very quiet Severn Beach included 3 Ringed Plover, single Curlew and Little Egret, 4 Shelduck and a Great Black-backed Gull.

9th May
A day of sunshine and showers. A Whimbrel, 20 Ringed Plover, 60 Dunlin, 7 Shelduck, 3 Gadwall, single Lesser Whitethroat and Reed Warbler were reported from Severn Beach. It remained quiet at Pilning Wetland with 2 Little Ringed Plovers, 2 Canada Geese, 9 Shelduck, 8 Gadwall, 4 Tufted Duck, 7 Swifts, single Lesser Whitethroat and Sedge Warbler reported. A visit to Aust Wetland produced 6 Avocets, 3 pairs of Lapwing and at least one chick, 3 pairs of Coot, a Shelduck, 2 Lesser Whitethroats, single Pheasant and Kestrel.

8th May
A dismal wet day. It was very quiet at Pilning Wetland where the only birds worth a mention were 2 Lapwing, 4 Shelduck, 12 Gadwall, 7 Tufted Duck, singing Reed Warblers, 20+ Swift with a mixed flock of 90+ Swallows and House Martins feeding low over the pools and a Kestrel. Severn Beach was also lacking in sightings with just 3 Whimbrel, 10 Oystercatchers, 2 Shelduck and 2 Gadwall of note.

7th May
A foggy dawn followed by bright sunshine for the rest of the day resulting in sunniest day of the year so far. A Short-eared Owl was seen on the salt marsh at Severn Beach this morning where other reports during the day included a Bar-tailed Godwit, 5+ Whimbrel, 10 Ringed Plover, 6 Dunlin, 19 Oystercatchers, a Little Egret, 2 Canada Geese, 4 Shelduck, 2 Gadwall, 2 Cetti’s Warblers, single Lesser Whitethroat, Reed Warbler, Sparrowhawk and Kestrel. Combined Reports from the Pilning Wetland/Northwick Warth area involved single Avocet and Greenshank, 4 Black-tailed Godwits, 2 Whimbrel, 2 Little Ringed Plovers, 2 Lapwing, 5 Curlew, 20 Oystercatchers, 2 Grey Herons, a Barnacle Goose, 6 Canada Geese, 2 Mute Swans, 53 Shelduck, 15 Gadwall, 8 Tufted Duck, 3 Little Grebes, 8 Swifts, 3 Reed Warblers, single Sedge Warbler, Lesser Whitethroat, Raven, Kestrel and Redpoll. Combined reports from the Pilning Wetland/New Passage area involved the Temminck’s Stint, 5 Little Ringed Plover, 9 Dunlin, 2 Lapwing, single Avocet, Greenshank, Whimbrel, Grey Heron, Pink-footed Goose, Barnacle Goose, 12 Canada Geese, 8 Gadwall, 5 Tufted Duck, single Lesser Whitethroat, Yellow Wagtail, Hobby and Sparrowhawk, 2 Ravens and 22 Swifts. Four Whimbrel, 11 Turnstones, 2 Dunlin, 12 Oystercatchers, 3 Canada Geese, 8 Shelduck, 2 Gadwall, single Lesser Whitethroat, Cetti’s Warbler and Tree Pipit were seen at Severn Beach.

5th May
A day of cloud and sunny spells with a few thundery downpours late afternoon. The Temminck’s Stint remained at Pilning Wetland where other reports included single drake Garganey, Pink-footed Goose and Barnacle Goose, 2 Canada Geese, 14 Shelduck, 7 Gadwall, 2 Tufted Duck, single Greenshank and Avocet, 3 Little Ringed Plover, 7 Lapwings, 7 Dunlin, 3 Ringed Plover, a Grey Heron, 17 Swifts, 2 Lesser Whitethroats and a Sparrowhawk. At least 55 Dunlin, 10 Ringed Plover, 3 Whimbrel, 3 Curlew, 15 Oystercatchers, 8 Shelduck, 2 Gadwall, 9 Black-headed Gulls, single Lesser Whitethroat, Cetti’s Warbler and Peregrine were reported from Severn Beach. Reports from Aust Wetland included 4 Avocets, 5 Lapwing (including 2 chicks), a Grey Heron, 2 Shelduck, 3 Gadwall, 2 Tufted Duck, 2 Lesser Whitethroats, single Pheasant and Siskin.

4th May
Another day with sunny spells in a North East breeze. Combined reports from Severn Beach included 7 Grey Plover, 30 Bar-tailed Godwits, 10 Whimbrel, 2 Knot, 42 Dunlin, 6 Ringed Plover, 2 Turnstones, 20 Oystercatchers, a Curlew, 7 Little Egrets, 2 Canada Geese, 4 Mute Swans, 16 Shelduck, 4 Gadwall, a 2nd calendar year Yellow-legged Gull, 14 Yellow Wagtails, 2 Tree Pipits, 116 Swifts, single Marsh Harrier, Lesser Whitethroat, Cetti’s Warbler, Kestrel and Sparrowhawk. The Temminck’s Stint, 2 Avocets, 8 Little Ringed Plover, 27 Dunlin, 8 Lapwing, 5 Oystercatchers, the Barnacle Goose, 8 Canada Geese, 24 Shelduck, 11 Gadwall, 10 Tufted Duck, 3 Yellow Wagtails, a Garden Warbler, 2 Lesser Whitethroats, 12 Swifts and a Kestrel were reported from the Pilning Wetland /New Passage area. Another 3 Whimbrel, 7 Swifts, 2 Cetti’s Warblers, single Lesser Whitethroat, Yellow Wagtail and Kestrel were reported from Aust Warth.

A bright and sunny day with an East wind. An adult Temminck’s Stint was found on Pilning Wetland, the 5th Severnside record and the first since May 2019. Other reports from here included 2 Avocets, 4 Little Ringed Plovers, 8 Lapwings, 9 Dunlin, single Ruff and Snipe, 2 Grey Herons, single Pink-footed Goose and Barnacle Goose, 4 Shelduck, 12 Gadwall, 12 Tufted Duck, 2 Yellow Wagtails, 21 Swifts, 2 Peregrines, single Sedge Warbler, Lesser Whitethroat, female Marsh Harrier, Kestrel and Sparrowhawk. Combined reports from Severn Beach involved 40+ Bar-tailed Godwits, 33 Whimbrel, 180+ Dunlin, 10 Ringed Plover, 35 Oystercatchers, single Common Sandpiper and Curlew, 3 Little Egrets, 2 Canada Geese, 8 Shelduck, 2 Gadwall, 3 Yellow Wagtails, 2 Cetti’s Warblers, 2 Swifts, single Tree Pipit, Lesser Whitethroat and Kestrel. Another cloudy day with sunny spells in a light East breeze. Combined reports from Severn Beach included 15 Whimbrel, 74 Dunlin, 10 Ringed Plover, 2 Turnstones, 8 Oystercatchers, a Curlew, 8 Shelduck, 40 Black-headed Gulls, 3 Yellow Wagtails, single Marsh Harrier, Swift, Wheatear, Tree Pipit, Lesser Whitethroat and Cetti’s Warbler. The only noteworthy birds present at Pilning wetland were 2 Little Ringed Plover, 8 Lapwings, single Little Egret, Grey Heron and Barnacle Goose, 2 Canada Geese, 3 Shelduck, 8 Gadwall, 2 Teal, 4 Tufted Duck, 8 Lapwings, 2 Little Ringed Plover, single Swift and Lesser Whitethroat.

Combined reports from Severn Beach involved 170 Dunlin, 3 Ringed Plover, 3 Turnstones, 14 Whimbrel, 32 Oystercatchers, 2 Canada Geese, 20 Shelduck, single Cetti’s Warbler, Lesser Whitethroat, Red Kite, Sparrowhawk and Kestrel. It remained quiet at Pilning Wetland/New Passage with 2 Avocets, 4 Little Ringed Plover, 17 Whimbrel, 8 Lapwings, 3 Dunlin, single Bar-tailed Godwit, Ringed Plover, Grey Heron, Pink-footed Goose, Barnacle Goose, Greylag Goose, 6 Canada Geese, 33 Shelduck, 14 Gadwall, 4 Tufted Duck, 2 Teal, 3 Wheatears, 9 White Wagtails, 3 Swifts and a Kestrel.
