May is the 3rd most productive month of the year with at least one individual of 204 species being seen. The summer migrants continue to move through including Garganey, Hobby, Cuckoo, Spotted Flycatcher, more Terns and Skuas with the chance of Pomarine. “Small” wader numbers should rise during the month with Dunlin, Ringed Plover, Sanderling and the chance of a Curlew Sandpiper or Little Stint. Rarer records include Subalpine Warbler (2004), Golden Oriole (2016), Bee-eater (2007), Bearded Tits (2024), Spoonbills, Great White Egrets, Cattle Egrets, Glossy Ibis (2024), Honey Buzzard (1991, 2011), Montagu’s Harrier (2015), Hen Harrier, Osprey, Collared Pratincole (2020), Kentish Plover (2004), Buff-breasted Sandpiper (1990), Temminck’s Stint (2004, 2016, 2019, 2023), Broad-billed Sandpiper (1988), Dotterel (2011), Black-winged Stilt (2017), Pectoral Sandpiper (2022), Franklin’s Gull (1984), Laughing Gull (2012), Long-tailed Skua, Sabine’s Gull, Roseate Tern (1990) and White-winged Black Tern (1990).

Another dry day with some sunshine and a moderate North West breeze. Reports from the Pilning Wetland/New Passage area included 2 Avocets, 5 Little Ringed Plovers (3 chicks), 7 adult Lapwings, a Little Egret, 2 Grey Herons, 3 Canada Geese, the pair of Mute Swans with 5 cygnets, 16 Shelduck, 29 Gadwall, a Tufted Duck, 4+ Little Grebes, a Pheasant, 3 Swifts, single Kestrel and Lesser Whitethroat.

30th May
A dry day with a North West breeze. A morning visit to Pilning Wetland/New Passage produced 6 Black-tailed Godwits, 7 Lapwings, 5 Little Ringed Plovers (3 chicks now at least 14 days old), a Dunlin, 2 Little Egrets, a Grey Heron, 32 Canada Geese, 10 Mute Swans (5 cygnets), 40+ Shelduck, 6 Gadwall, a Tufted Duck, 2 Grey Wagtails and 2 Swifts. Another Dunlin, 4 Ringed Plovers and 4 Shelduck were reported from Severn Beach.

29th May
Another breezy day with a mix of sunshine and cloud. Two Avocets, 4 Little Ringed Plovers (2 chicks), 7 Lapwings (2 chicks), a Little Egret, 3 Grey Herons, 24 Canada Geese, 7 Mute Swans (5 cygnets), 28 Shelduck, 8 Gadwall, a Tufted Duck, 3 Swifts and a Lesser Whitethroat were reported from the Pilning Wetland/New Passage area. The only reports of note from the Severn Beach shore included 4 Ringed Plover, single Dunlin and Grey Heron, 2 Shelduck and 2 Lesser Whitethroats.

28th May
A windy day from the South West with some heavy rain showers. Reports from the Pilning Wetland/New Passage area included 2 Avocets, 5 Little Ringed Plovers (3 chicks), 9 Ringed Plovers, 3 Dunlin, 8 Curlew, 6+ Lapwings, an Oystercatcher, 3 Little Egrets, 3 Grey Herons, 22 Canada Geese, 7 Mute Swans (5 cygnets), 24 Shelduck, 10+ Gadwall, 3 Tufted Duck, 2 Black-headed Gulls and 2 Grey Wagtails. Single Whimbrel and Curlew, 10 Ringed Plover, a Dunlin, 3 Oystercatchers, a Little Egret, 2 Grey Herons, 9 Shelduck, a Great Black-backed Gull, 2 Lesser Whitethroats and a Cetti’s Warbler were reported from the Severn Beach shore.

27th May
Another mix of cloud and sunshine with moderate strength West wind. Combined reports from the Severn Beach shore included 2 Guillemots in flight, a Sanderling, 4 Ringed Plover, 5 Dunlin, 5 Little Egrets, 6 Shelduck, a Gadwall, 2 Swifts and a Kestrel. Three Avocets, 5 Little Ringed Plovers (now only 3 chicks), 5+ adult Lapwings, 2 Oystercatchers, at least one Ringed Plover, 7 Curlew, 4 Little Egrets, 2 Grey Herons, 57 Canada Geese, 2 Black Swans, 7 Mute Swans (5 cygnets), 56 Shelduck, 10 Gadwall, a Tufted Duck, 12 Little Grebes (including 2 broods of chicks), 25+ Swifts, single Lesser Whitethroat, Cetti’s Warbler and Kestrel.

26th May
A mix of cloud and sunshine, a few brief rain showers and a South West wind. Reports from the Pilning Wetland/New Passage area included 2 Avocets, at least 5 Little Ringed Plovers (pair and 3 chicks), 9 Lapwings (6 adults, 3 chicks), 4 Little Egrets, 3 Grey Herons, a pair of Mute Swans with 5 Cygnets, 14 Shelduck and 3 Tufted Duck. Two Sanderling, 8 Ringed Plover, 6 Dunlin, a Little Egret, 18 Common Scoter, 10 Shelduck, a Gadwall, single Lesser Whitethroat, Cetti’s Warbler and Sparrowhawk were reported at Severn Beach.

25th May
A warm and dry day. Combined reports from the Pilning Wetland/New Passage involved 4 Avocets, 6 Little Ringed Plovers (4 chicks), 8 Lapwings (2 chicks), 5 Ringed Plovers, 2 Dunlin, 2 Oystercatchers, 4 Curlew, single Snipe and Whimbrel, 4 Little Egrets, a Grey Heron, 5 Little Grebes, 7 Mute Swans (5 cygnets), 4 Shelduck, 10 Gadwall, single Sparrowhawk and Swift. Three Sanderling, 15 Ringed Plover, 11 Dunlin, 3 Curlew, 18 Oystercatchers, 4 Grey Herons, 8 Shelduck, 2 Gadwall, single Cetti’s Warbler and Lesser Whitethroat were reported from the Severn Beach Shore. A Stonechat, 2 Little Egrets and 2 Roe Deer (Doe And Fawn) were seen at Aust Wetland.

24th May
A dry day with a mixture of sunshine and cloud. Just 2 Avocets, 6 Little Ringed Plovers (4 chicks), 6 adult Lapwings, 2 Curlew, single Oystercatcher and Great White Egret, 5 Little Egrets, 2 Grey Herons, 6 Canada Geese, 7 Mute Swans (5 cygnets), 19 Shelduck, 15 Gadwall, 4 Tufted Duck, 4 Black-headed Gulls, 10 Swifts and a Kestrel were seen in the Pilning Wetland/New Passage area. Single Spotted flycatcher and Lapwing, 6 Little Egrets, 7 Grey Herons, 3 Shelduck, 2 Gadwall, 2 Black-headed Gulls and a pair of Stonechats were reported from Aust Wetland.

23rd May
A cloudy, dry day with a West wind. Nothing of note was reported from Severn Beach today but sightings from the Pilning Wetland/New Passage area involved a Bar-tailed Godwit, 8 Avocets, 2 adult Little Ringed Plovers with 4 chicks still (despite the swarm of Jackdaws nearby), 8 adult Lapwings, 3 Dunlin, 2 Oystercatchers, a Little Egret, 2 Grey Herons, 41 Canada Geese, 10 Mute Swans (5 cygnets still), 42 Shelduck, 14 Gadwall, 4 Tufted Duck, 5+ Little Grebes, 2 Swifts, single Sparrowhawk and Wheatear.

22nd May
A mainly wet day with a moderate strength West wind. At least 16 Avocets, 6 Little Ringed Plovers (4 chicks still surviving), 6 Lapwings, 10 Ringed Plover, 2 Dunlin, 21 Oystercatchers, single Black-tailed Godwit, Whimbrel, Snipe and Little Egret, 2 Grey Herons, 22 Canada Geese, 10 Mute Swans (5 cygnets), 18 Shelduck, 24 Gadwall, 2 Tufted Duck, 2 Swifts and a Wheatear were seen in the Pilning Wetland/New Passage area. It was very quiet at Severn Beach with just 2 Whimbrel, 16 Oystercatchers, 7 Shelduck being the only birds worth a mention despite 2 day time high tides.

21st May
A sunny morning followed by cloud in a North breeze. Combined reports from the Severn Beach shore involved 2 Whimbrel, single Greenshank, Curlew, Little Egret and Grey Heron, 10 Canada Geese, 12 Shelduck, 10 Gadwall, 3 Great Black-backed Gulls, 5 Swifts, a Lesser Whitethroat and at least 2 Cetti’s Warblers. A Black-tailed Godwit, 19 Avocets, 7 Little Ringed Plovers (4 chicks), 8 Lapwings, 3 Dunlin, 2 Ringed Plover, single Snipe and Little Egret, 3 Grey Herons, 10 Canada Geese, 10 Mute Swans (5 cygnets), 12 Shelduck, 22 Gadwall, 2 Tufted Duck, 6 Black-headed gulls, 10 Swifts, 2 Ravens, single Red Kite, Kestrel and Lesser Whitethroat were reported from Pilning Wetland/New Passage.

Another warm (22°C) and sunniest day of the year so far with a North East wind. Combined reports from Severn Beach included 3 Avocets, single Bar-tailed Godwit, 2 Whimbrel, 15 Oystercatchers, a Little Egret, 8 Canada Geese, 8 Shelduck, 3 singing Cetti’s Warblers, single Lesser Whitethroat and Sparrowhawk. At least 19 Avocets, 6 Little Ringed Plovers (a pair with 4 chicks), 10 Lapwings, 3 Whimbrel, single Curlew and Little Egret, 2 Grey Herons, 16 Canada Geese, 10 Mute Swans (5 cygnets), 25 Shelduck, 20+ Gadwall, 4 Tufted Duck, a Pheasant, 4+ Little Grebes, 2 Swifts, 2 Red Kites, 3 Ravens, single Lesser Whitethroat and Wheatear were reported from the Pilning Wetland/New Passage area.

Combined reports from the Pilning Wetland/New Passage area included 15+ Avocets, 7 Little Ringed Plovers (3 adults, 4 chicks still), 9 Lapwings (3 chicks), an Oystercatcher, 2 Great White Egrets flying North East, a Little Egret, 3 Grey Herons, 8 Canada Geese, 10 Mute Swans (5 cygnets still), 12 Shelduck, 20+ Gadwall, 4 Tufted Duck and 2 Swifts. A Bar-tailed Godwit, 3 Whimbrel, 34 Ringed Plover, 9 Dunlin, 12 Oystercatchers, 3 Shelduck, 2 Gadwall, 4 Great Black-backed Gull, 2 Swifts, single Lesser Whitethroat and Cetti’s Warbler were reported from the Severn Beach shore.

18th May
A warm sunny day with a North East breeze. An impressive 21 Avocets, 8 Little Ringed Plovers (4 adults plus a brood of 4 chicks), single Greenshank and Whimbrel, 4 Black-tailed Godwits, 9 Lapwings (6 adults plus 3 chicks), 3 Snipe, 7 Ringed Plovers, 4 Dunlin, 2 Little Egrets, 3 Grey Herons, 13 Canada Geese, 10 Mute Swans (5 adults and 5 new cygnets), 12 Shelduck, a drake Pochard, 28 Gadwall, 4 Tufted Duck, 2 Yellow Wagtails, a Sparrowhawk and 2 Swifts were reported from the Pilning Wetland/New Passage area. Combined reports from the Severn Beach shore involved 3 Whimbrel, single Sanderling and Curlew, 15 Ringed Plover, 17 Dunlin, 6 Oystercatchers, 2 Little Egrets, 2 Grey Herons, a Great Black-backed Gull, 32 Shelduck, 2 Gadwall, 2 Pheasants, 3 Cetti’s Warblers, single Lesser Whitethroat, Yellow Wagtail and Hobby. Single Bar-tailed Godwit, Whimbrel and Curlew, 15 Ringed Plover, 19 Oystercatchers, 15 Canada Geese, 40 Shelduck, 20 Gadwall, single Sandwich Tern and Black-headed Gull, 2 Great Black-backed Gulls, 4 Cetti’s Warblers and a Stonechat were reported from Chittening Warth.

A warm and sunny day with a light East wind. Reports from the Pilning Wetland/New Passage area included at least 4 Little Ringed Plovers (a pair with at least 2 fresh chicks), 16 Avocets, 5 Black-tailed Godwits, 2 Redshank, a Ringed Plover, 8+ Lapwings (at least 2 chicks), a Spoonbill, 2 Little Egrets, 3 Grey Herons, 2 Greylag Geese, 6 Canada Geese, 4 Mute Swans, 12 Shelduck, 20 Gadwall, 2 Tufted Duck, 6 Little Grebes and a Red Kite. Four Ringed Plover, 5+ Whimbrel, Bar-tailed Godwits, single Turnstone, Curlew and Grey Heron, 3 Shelduck, a Lesser Whitethroat and 2 singing Cetti’s Warblers were reported from the Severn Beach shore. 16th May
Another cloudy day with a light North East breeze. The first May record of Glossy Ibis (flying North East at 6.32. The 8th Severnside record and 9th individual), 11 Avocets, 2 Little Ringed Plovers, 6+ Lapwings, 5 Black-tailed Godwits, 2 Little Egrets, 3 Grey Herons, 2 Greylag Geese, 14 Canada Geese, 3 Mute Swans, 16 Shelduck, 20+ Gadwall, 3 Tufted Duck, a Pheasant and 3 Swifts were seen in the Pilning Wetland/New Passage area. A Greenshank, 2 Dunlin, 10 Ringed Plover, 12 Oystercatchers, 4 Canada Geese, 17 Shelduck, a Gadwall, 2 Great Black-backed Gulls, a Sandwich Tern and a Grey Seal were seen from the Severn Beach shore with only a “low” 9.5 metre high tide.

15th May
Another day of sunshine and cloud with the wind remaining from the South East. At least 15 Avocets, 2 Little Ringed Plovers, 8 Lapwings including 2 chicks, 5 Oystercatchers, a Curlew, 3 Grey Herons, 12 Canada Geese, 3 Mute Swans, 15 Shelduck, 28 Gadwall, 4 Tufted Duck, 2 Swifts, 2 Wheatears, 2 Yellow Wagtails, single Lesser Whitethroat, Marsh Harrier and Kestrel. Sightings from Severn Beach included 5 Sanderling, 17 Ringed Plover, 2 Turnstones, 2 Whimbrel, 21 Oystercatchers, a Dunlin, 3 Little Egrets, 7 Shelduck, 5 Black-headed Gulls, single Great Black-backed Gull, Lesser Whitethroat and Cetti’s Warbler.

14th May
A mixture of sunshine and cloud with a South East wind. Combined reports from the Pilning Wetland/New Passage area included 9 Avocets, a Little Ringed Plover, 6 Lapwings, a Little Egret, 3 Grey Herons, a Greylag Goose, 13 Canada Geese, 5 Mute Swans, 35 Shelduck, 22 Gadwall, 4 Tufted Duck, 17 Swifts and 3 Yellow Wagtails. At least 3 Whimbrel, 22 Oystercatchers, 18 Shelduck, a Gadwall, 2 Great Black-backed Gulls, 2 Cetti’s Warblers and a Lesser Whitethroat were reported from Severn Beach. A Great White Egret and a Peregrine were seen from the Aust Cliff/services area.

13th May
A cloudy day with river mist, rain in the afternoon and a South East wind. There should be more birds and variety than were seen. Severn Beach was quiet with the only birds worth a mention being 2 Whimbrel, single Ringed Plover and Grey Heron, 11 Shelduck, a cock Pheasant, a few Common Gulls, 2 Lesser Whitethroats and 2 singing Cetti’s Warblers. At least 8 Avocets, 2 Little Ringed Plovers, 6 Lapwings, single Whimbrel, Redshank, Little Egret and Grey Heron, 8 Canada Geese, a pair of Mute Swans, 14 Shelduck, 24 Gadwall, 3 Tufted Duck, 5+ Little Grebes, 5 Swifts and a late singing Willow Warbler were reported from Pilning Wetland/New Passage.

12th May
Mainly sunny with a brief thunderstorm in the afternoon. Two Red-throated Divers, 2 Whimbrel, single Turnstone and Ringed Plover, 6 Oystercatchers, 3 Little Egrets, 2 Grey Herons, 7 Shelduck, 3 Great Black-backed Gulls, 3 Yellow Wagtails, 2 Lesser Whitethroats, single Cetti’s Warbler, Swift and Kestrel were reported from the Severn Beach shore. Combined reports from the Pilning Wetland/New Passage area included a Greenshank, 13 Avocets (a nest was raided by a Fox), 2 Little Ringed Plovers, 3 Ringed Plovers, 6+ adult Lapwing, 2 Grey Herons, 9 Canada Geese, 7 Mute Swans, 20 Shelduck, 31 Gadwall, 7 Tufted Duck, 2 Lesser Whitethroats, 2 Wheatears, 2 Yellow Wagtails, single Spotted Flycatcher, singing Willow Warbler, Swift, Coal Tit, Siskin and Peregrine.

11th May
Another 25°C day. Combined reports from the Severn Beach shore involved 3 Grey Plover, 5 Whimbrel, 30 Ringed Plovers, 35 Dunlin, a Little Egret, 2 Grey Herons, 2 Canada Geese, 11 Shelduck, 4 Gadwall, 2 Sandwich Terns flying North East, 3 Black-headed Gulls, 2 Lesser Whitethroats, 4 Cetti’s Warblers, 2 Spotted Flycatchers, single White Wagtail, Willow Warbler, Garden Warbler, Whinchat and Kestrel. At least 8 Avocets, 2 Little Ringed Plovers, 8 adult Lapwings, 3 Oystercatchers, single Ringed Plover and Little Egret, 3 Grey Herons, 8 Canada Geese, 2 Mute Swans, 28 Shelduck, 2 Shoveler, 10 Gadwall, 5 Tufted Duck, 2 Spotted Flycatchers, single Yellow Wagtail, Lesser Whitethroat, Siskin, Kestrel were reported from the Pilning Wetland/New Passage area.

10th May
The hottest day of the year so far (25°C). At least 11 Avocets, 2 Little Ringed Plover, 8 adult Lapwing plus chicks, 5 Grey Herons, 2 Greylag Geese, 2 Mute Swans, 4 Shelduck, a drake Shoveler, 8 Gadwall, 3 Tufted Duck, 6 Black-headed Gulls and a Yellow Wagtail were seen at Pilning Wetland this morning. Combined reports from the Severn Beach shore included 9 Grey Plover, 5 Whimbrel, a Bar-tailed Godwit, 20 Dunlin, 10 Ringed Plover, 18 Oystercatchers, a Grey Heron, 14 Shelduck, 2 Gadwall, 2 Wheatears, single Cetti’s Warbler and Lesser Whitethroat.

A good selection of birds were seen from the Severn Beach shore today including single Curlew Sandpiper and Sanderling, at least 12 Bar-tailed Godwits, 11 Whimbrel, 5 Curlew, 56 Dunlin, 47 Ringed Plover, 30 Oystercatchers, single Redshank and Little Egret, 2 Spoonbills (flew NE at 7 PM), 3 Grey Herons, 2 Canada Geese, 8 Shelduck, 4 Gadwall, 8 Eider (4 drakes), a Red-throated Diver, 2 Yellow Wagtails, 2 Wheatears, 3 Cetti’s Warblers, single Garden Warbler, Siskin, Kestrel, male Sparrowhawk and a Harbour Porpoise. Reports from the Pilning Wetland/New Passage area involved 12 Avocets, 2 Little Ringed Plover, 3 Dunlin, 4 Ringed Plover, 10 Lapwing including 2 broods of 3 and at least one chick, single Whimbrel and Common Sandpiper, 2 Grey Herons, 2 Greylag Geese, 4 Canada Geese, 2 Mute Swans, 26 Shelduck, a drake Shoveler, 10 Gadwall, 12 Tufted Duck and 5+ Little Grebes including 3 chicks.

8th May
A sunny dry day. Combined reports from the Pilning Wetland/New Passage area included 8 Avocets, 4 Little Ringed Plovers, 4 Lapwing, a Whimbrel, 3 Grey Herons, 3 Canada Geese, 2 Mute Swans, 28 Shelduck, 2 Shoveler, 6 Gadwall, 2 Tufted Duck, 2 Yellow Wagtails, 4 Siskins and a Red Kite. At least 25 Dunlin, 5 Ringed Plover, 2 Grey Herons, a Canada Goose, 18 Shelduck, 2 Gadwall, 3 Cetti’s Warblers and 2 Lesser Whitethroats were reported from Severn Beach.

7th May
A warm and sunny day at long last. The first Sanderling of the year, 2 Avocets, 4 Whimbrel, 62 Dunlin, 12 Ringed Plover, 27 Oystercatchers, single Little Egret and Grey Heron, 3 Canada Geese, 11 Shelduck, 4 Gadwall, a Kittiwake, 3 Black-headed Gulls, single Merlin and Kestrel, 9 Swifts, 2 Cetti’s Warblers, 3 Yellow Wagtails, a Tree Pipit, 4 Redpolls and 6 Siskins were reported from Severn Beach. A Bar-tailed Godwit, 7 Avocets, 4 Little Ringed Plover, 3 Whimbrel, 4 Lapwings, a Little Egret, 3 Grey Herons, 2 Canada Geese, 2 Mute Swans, 9 Shelduck, 10 Gadwall, a Shoveler, 6 Tufted Duck, 6 Black-headed Gulls, 10 Swifts, 3 Yellow Wagtails, single Redpoll, Siskin and Red Kite were seen in the Pilning Wetland/Northwick Warth area. The summer plumaged Curlew Sandpiper, 16 Whimbrel, a Common Sandpiper, 53 Dunlin, 14 Ringed Plover, 25 Oystercatchers, 2 Little Egrets, single Cattle Egret and Great White Egret, 4 Canada Geese, 7 Shelduck, 2 Gadwall, 5 Sandwich Terns, 17 Black-headed Gulls, 2 Great Black-backed Gulls, 2 Yellow Wagtails, single Lesser Whitethroat, Cetti’s Warbler, Swift, Redpoll and Marsh Harrier were reported from the Severn Beach shore.

4th May
The sunniest day of the year so far, warm with just a light South West breeze. Combined reports from Severn Beach involved the Curlew Sandpiper, 21 Bar-tailed Godwits, 8 Whimbrel, 45 Dunlin, 15 Ringed Plover, single Common Sandpiper and Turnstone, 20 Oystercatchers, 2 Canada Geese, 5 Shelduck, 2 Gadwall, 2 Sand Martins, single Lesser Whitethroat, Cetti’s Warbler and Grasshopper Warbler from the shore and a Garden Warbler, Cetti’s Warblers and Reed Warblers from the Orchard Pools area. A female Marsh Harrier, 2 Red Kites (mobbed by a Lapwing), 6 Avocets, 2 Little Ringed Plover, 2 Bar-tailed Godwits, 11 Whimbrel, 4 Lapwings, 2 Little Egret, 2 Grey Herons, 6 Little Grebes (including grebelets), 2 Mute Swans, a Greylag Goose, 24+ Shelduck, 20 Gadwall, 2 Teal, 10 Tufted Duck, 7 Swifts, 10+ Wheatears, Pied Wagtails with fledglings, 3 Yellow Wagtails, single Sparrowhawk, Kestrel and Raven were reported from the Pilning Wetland/Northwick Warth area.

3rd May
A cool and cloudy day with some light rain showers. Combined reports from the Severn Beach shore included the adult Curlew Sandpiper, 5 Whimbrel, 15 Ringed Plover, 30 Dunlin, 12 Oystercatchers, a Curlew, 2 Little Egrets, a Canada Goose, 11 Shelduck, 2 Gadwall, 18 Kittiwakes (flew North East), a Great Black-backed Gull, 3 Sedge Warblers, 4 Reed Warblers, single Swift, Lesser Whitethroat, Cetti’s Warbler and male Sparrowhawk. A morning visit to Pilning Wetland/New Passage produced 2 Little Ringed Plovers, 4 Lapwings, 2 Little Egrets, single Grey Heron, Pink-footed Goose, Greylag Goose, 17 Canada Geese, 2 Mute Swans, 28 Shelduck, 12 Gadwall, a grounded Red Kite, 3 Swifts, 9 Wheatears, single Whinchat, Lesser Whitethroat and White Wagtail.

2nd May
Following heavy overnight rain it remained cloudy, damp and breezy. The first Curlew Sandpiper of the year, 3 Whimbrel, 10 Ringed Plover, 20 Dunlin, 40 Oystercatchers, single Curlew, Little Egret, Grey Heron and Canada Goose, 4 Shelduck, 4 Wheatears, 2 Sedge Warblers, 2 Lesser Whitethroats, single Cetti’s Warbler and Kestrel were reported from the Severn Beach shore. Combined reports from the Pilning Wetland/New Passage area included 4 Avocets, 4 Little Ringed Plover, a Black-tailed Godwit, 6 Whimbrel, 2 Curlew, 4 Lapwings, 2 Little Egrets, 3 Grey Herons, single Pink-footed Goose, Greylag Goose, 12 Canada Geese, 2 Mute Swans, 18 Shelduck, 12 Gadwall, 2 Teal, a Shoveler, 2 Tufted Duck, 9 Wheatears and 4 Yellow Wagtails. Reports from Aust Wetland involved 2 Lapwings, 2 Mute Swans, 2 Shelduck, 5 Sedge Warblers, 2 Whitethroats, single Lesser Whitethroat, Yellow Wagtail and 8 Stonechats (2 pairs with two and single fledglings plus alone male).

A pair of Bearded Tits (present 9-11, then flew off North East), a Cuckoo, 4 Avocets, 9 Whimbrel, 4 Little Ringed Plover, 5 Lapwings, 4 Dunlin, single Curlew and Cattle Egret, 2 Little Egrets, 2 Grey Herons, 3 Canada Geese, 2 Mute Swans, 18 Shelduck, 16 Gadwall, a Shoveler, 4 Tufted Duck, 2 Teal, a pair of Little Grebes with 3 chicks, 3 Whinchat, 13 Wheatears, 5 Tree Pipits, 4 Yellow Wagtails, 2 Swifts, single White Wagtail, Garden Warbler, Lesser Whitethroat, Hobby, Raven and Redpoll were reported from the Pilning Wetland/New Passage area. Combined reports from the Severn Beach shore involved 3 Whimbrel, 6 Ringed Plover, 4 Dunlin, 2 Oystercatchers, 3 Little Egrets, 2 Canada Geese, 6 Shelduck, a Garden Warbler, 3 Lesser Whitethroats, 2 Cetti’s Warblers and 2 Wheatears. Two Avocets, 16 Shelduck, 2 Grey Herons, a Crossbill, 3 Yellow Wagtails, 2 Tree Pipits, 2 Siskins and a Sparrowhawk were reported from Aust Cliff/services this morning.
