Puffin
Fratercula arctica

The first record of Puffin involved a dead bird in February 1951. It was another 46 years until the first live bird was seen in February 1997,  followed by 2 different birds in February 2002, another single in February 2014. An astonishing record of a juvenile found in my garden at 10 pm on a windless day during a heatwave in July 2026 broke the pattern of winter storm blown birds. This bird was healthy and taken for release the same night, over the high tide at Berrow beach in Somerset.
